Official School Reports of The 4th Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2021

Dear teachers, parents and students,

We have already sent out the official school reports to the teacher-in-charge(s) of all participating schools by 28 July 2021. The school report consists of the full results of the participants at the school. All participants can now check their results in the school report. Participants must make sure that their information in the school report is correct. The winners of this competition will also be publicly announced on this website after all the participants check their results in the school report.

Here are what you should do with the championship school reports:

• Teacher must make sure that all the information (such as the spelling of the name) in the list of teacher-in-charge(s) is correct. Update it if necessary.
• For participants, if you attend the competition (and submit the answer sheet) but your results is "absent", please inform your teacher-in-charge immediately. Teacher will then contact and discuss with the organiser.
• For all participants, please check the spelling of name, school year category, school name (if any), marks and awards. Award depends on the marks of the participant.
• For participants who register for this championship at their original school, they can check their school name at the top of the school report. The school name will be printed on their certificates.
  
• For surrogate participants and participants register through tuition centre, the name of their original school will be printed on their certificate. There is a list of surrogate participants in the school report. Surrogate participants must check the name of their original school at that section.
  
• For walk-in participant who haven't pay the registration fees, they need to make payment for the registration fees by 10 August 2021. Walk in participants are shaded with orange colour in the school report.
• If you already pay your registration fees but your name is shaded with orange colour in the school report, please inform the organiser about this situation through your teacher.
  
• For any correction of information, teacher will inform the organiser via WhatsApp by 10 August 2021.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the championship results be announced on the championship website?

Yes. The winners of the championship will be publicly announced on the official website of the championship after all the participants check their results in the school report.

When will we receive our certificates?

We are still in the process of preparing certificates, awards and medals. We still need time before we can send out the award pack. The award pack will be sent out once it is ready. The consignment number of the parcel will also be given to the teacher-in-charge(s) when the award pack is sent out.

Will you provide printed certificate or e-certificate?

We will provide printed certificate only for this championship.

Where to obtain our certificates?

For participants who register for this championship through school, the certificates and medals (if any) will be sent to the school and the teacher-in-charge of this championship at your school will make arrangement and distribute the certificates and medals (if any) to you. For participants who register for this championship through tuition centre, your certificates and medals (if any) will be sent to the tuition centre. You can then collect your awards from your tuition teacher.

What is the PAJSK level of the championship?

We are unable to confirm the PAJSK level of 'The 4th Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2021' at the moment. We will make an official announcement again on this matter once the PAJSK level of the championship is confirmed.

Is there any further competition?

No. As stated in the championship information pack, 'The 4th Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2021' is composed of just one test. There is no selection, no preliminary, and no final test.

What should I do if the spelling of my name in the school report is not correct?

You must contact the teacher-in-charge at your school immediately. Then, tell him/her your correct name. The teacher will then inform us (the organiser) about the correction by WhatsApp. After that, we will take action to update your information in our system. This is very important because the name of the student will be printed on the certificates.

The registration period for 'The 4th Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2021' is from 21 January 2021 (Thursday) to 31 March 2021 (Wednesday). This means that you can now register for the championship here!

Here are the steps to register your students.

2. Read the general instructions in the registration form.

3. Fill up the registration form carefully and completely.

6. We will confirm your registration by sending a confirmation email in 5 working days.

7. Contact the organiser if you do not receive the confirmation email. Registration is considered valid only when you receive the confirmation email.

A minimum of 3 entries, regardless of the school year level, is required for each participating school. Extra fees might be charged to cover the contest expenses if the school has less than 3 participants.

• This championship will be fully conducted online on 7 May 2021 (primary division) and 8 May 2021 (secondary division). Alternative date and time is not allowed for this championship.
  
• The registration fees are not refundable. However, if a participant cannot attend the championship with reasonable and acceptable reason, his seat can be transferred to other student with the same school year category. If this is the case, please contact the organiser for further assistance.

Benedict Goh Mathematics Championships in Year 2021

Dear teachers, parents and students,

First and foremost, we would like to wish you a very happy new year.

In year 2017, the Benedict Goh Mathematics Championships was founded in Malaysia with the main objective of spreading the beauty of mathematics among all the primary and secondary school students by exposing them to interesting and challenging mathematics problems. In addition, our championships also aim at encouraging students to learn mathematics and apply the mathematics knowledge learned. Today, the championship has also becoming a platform for students to compete with participants from different places.

The Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship is held annually since 2017. However, there is an exception. The year 2020 turn out to be very different for all of us. It will also be a very special year in the history of the Benedict Goh Mathematics Championships. This is due to the coronavirus outbreak in many countries, including Malaysia. To fight back against this pandemic, a Movement Control Order (MCO) was lifted in Malaysia in March 2020 and many students will be learning from home. And of course, our mathematics championship was also not conducted in year 2020.

However, the coronavirus pandemic cannot hinder our students from loving mathematics as well as learning mathematics. For students who cannot attend a physical class, they are attending online mathematics class at home. They also learn mathematics by using books and videos. Teachers are also doing their best in promoting and popularising the beauty of mathematics. This is revealed when parents and teachers approach us and ask us about our mathematics championships for year 2020. We would like to thank all of you for contacting us, approaching us, giving suggestions to us, and encouraging us.

Now, we have good news for you. In this year, we plan to organise an online mathematics championship in Malaysia. The championship that we mean here is 'The 4th Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2021'. It will take place over two days and it will be fully conducted online. This online championship is conducted with the approval of Ministry of Education, Malaysia. More information about this championship will be announced in our official website soon.

In year 2021, the Benedict Goh Mathematics Championships will continue to encourage the learning of mathematics by organising interesting and fun mathematics competition. Results: The 3rd Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2019

Dear teachers and participants,

We would like to announce the results of 'The 3rd Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2019' today. 'The 3rd Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2019' was held from 15 to 17 April 2019 at each participating schools. With the participation of teachers, students, arbiters and all the other supporters, this championship is conducted successfully.

Overall, the performance of the participants in this championship are excellent. Thirteen participants score full marks (which is 120 marks) in this championship. These thirteen participants will be awarded a certificate of perfect score each.

Here are the lists of the overall champion of 'The 3rd Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2019' for each school year category. They will be awarded the title of Malaysia Schools Mathematics Champion 2019 (MSMChampion 2019), which remains the supreme means of recognition in the country. This title is contested annually and will only be awarded to the top ranked competitor for each school year category.

The organising committee has redefined the qualification criteria for the special titles of mathematics in Malaysia starting from 1 January 2019. The qualification criteria has been raised to a higher standard. Therefore, for participants who already achieving the titles in the previous championship, but achieving the new norms again this year, they will receive a new certificate carrying the respective title again this year. Participants who achieve the special titles of mathematics in the previous championship will still maintain their titles.

Results of The 2nd Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2018

So today is the day! It is the time for us to announce the final results of 'The 2nd Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2018'. But before that, we would like to thank all of our competitors, teachers, arbiters and all the other supporters for helping to make this event successful.

The 2nd Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2018 which was finished one month ago at each participating schools in Malaysia will go down in the history of BMC as the best event ever so far. The championship was marked by a number of truly memorable elements: the first two times Malaysia Schools Mathematics Champion crowned, the first perfect score achieved by a Secondary 5 competitor in the BMC history and the highest number of competitors achieving the norms of the national level special titles of mathematics in Malaysia.

And now we would like to congratulate Lim Zheng Yu, a Secondary Four competitor from Chong Hwa Independent High School for becoming the two times Malaysia Schools Mathematics Champion. Lim Zheng Yu wins the title of Malaysia Schools Mathematics Champion in 2017 for Secondary Three school year category and in 2018 for Secondary Four school year category.

Besides, we would also like to congratulate Loo Xin Wei from Chong Hwa Independent High School for winning the overall champion of the Secondary Five school year category with a perfect score. The competitor who scores the highest marks and topples all the other competitors in the Secondary Six school year category is Takeda Shigenori from Chong Hwa Independent High School.

What follows are the list of competitors who achieve the requirements of the national level special titles of mathematics in Malaysia. The special titles of mathematics awarded in 'The 2nd Benedict Goh Malaysia Schools Mathematics Championship 2018' is different from the previous year.

To encourage new entrants globally to take up the Benedict Goh Mathematics Championships, the organising committee has decided to introduce new national level special titles of mathematics recognising significant achievement of competitors. These titles are Malaysia National Grand Master of Mathematics (MY-NGMM), Malaysia National Master of Mathematics (MY-NMM) and Malaysia National Candidate Master of Mathematics (MY-NCMM).

These national level special titles of mathematics are only awarded to the secondary school competitor who achieve all the norms and requirements in one single competition and are not already achieving the titles in the previous championships. This means that any competitor who already has a special titles of mathematics will maintain their title for life.

The norms of the national level special titles of mathematics in Malaysia are as follow:

-must be a secondary school or pre-university student

-must answer at least 90% of the Section C questions correctly

-must obtain a final marks of 105 and above

-must answer all the questions but not solely focusing on the Section C questions

-must be a secondary school or pre-university student

-must answer at least 70% of the Section C questions correctly

-must obtain a final marks of 95 and above

1. Download the official registration form in our website.
2. Fill up the registration form completely.
2. Make payment to NGIE HIN ENTERPRISE COMPANY (RHB Bank Account No: 21103450913311)
3. Email the bank-in slip and completely filled registration form to gohmaths@yahoo.com.
4. We will confirm your registration by sending a confirmation email in 14 working days.

Kindly take note that the registration is considered valid only after the full payment has been received. The registration closing date is at 5.00 p.m. on the 16th of March, 2018 (Friday), any registration after the closing date is invalid.
